Kensington Palace announced in a tweet on Tuesday that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will enjoy a lemon elderflower cake topped with buttercream and fresh flowers when they marry in May. A fruitcake is the traditional choice for British royal weddings, however, the couple opted for a modern, spring inspired choice. The cake will be made by California-raised pastry chef Claire Ptak. Ptak owns a bakery called Violet Cakes in London. The bakery focuses on using fresh and seasonal ingredients.
