Passersby Rescue Swimmer from Rough Sea in Dún Laoghaire

A group of passersby threw a life preserver out to a swimmer struggling in the rough sea just off the beach of Dún Laoghaire in Dublin, Ireland, on March 2.In her Facebook post, uploader Gwen Thomas expressed her disbelief that anyone would be trying to swim in such conditions: “Had she not been spotted she would definitely not have survived, it is extremely dangerous down here. Have no clue why someone would swim in these conditions.” [sic]The the so-called "Beast from the East,” or Storm Emma, has blasted Europe with rough weather, snow and ice over several days, creating treacherous road conditions and travel delays across the continent.
