Although Russia is not officially participating at the 2018 Winter Olympics, 169 athletes from Russia are in competition. Known as Olympic Athletes from Russia, these competitors can be spotted with the acronym OAR somewhere on their uniform. Back in December the International Olympic Committee punished Russia for a state-sponsored doping program by disqualifying them from Olympic competition in Pyeongchang. But the IOC allowed Russian athletes to compete if they passed a screening process.
