'Android P' Software to Include iPhone X 'Notch' Capabilities According to Bloomberg, Android will overhaul its phones to include the hallmark 'notch' feature of the iPhone X. The notch is the black cutout at the top of the iPhone X that includes camera and other sensors. This will allow the new devices to support new features that are popular amongst Apple customers. The Android P software will also emphasize Google's Assistant, which is the equivalent to Siri and Alex. Currently, Essential's smartphone is the only other device with the notch.
