A powerful earthquake struck Taiwan yesterday (February 6), causing Yuncui Building to partially collapse.

Night-time footage shows the Yuncui Building dangerously tilted to one side.

Police were evacuating civilians at the scene.

According to local reports, guests are still believed to be trapped inside.

The shallow magnitude 6.4 quake struck 13 miles north of Hualien, on the east coast of Taiwan, local media said. The quake’s centre, Hualien County, has suffered repeated quakes all week.

So far at least two people were confirmed dead and more than 100 have been injured.
