Kentucky officials are trying to repopulate it’s elk population after many years of overhunting and habitat destruction.
Gabe Jenkins, deer and elk program coordinator, states, “It’s been 20 ear since we started returning elk to Kentucky.”
According to mnn.com, “officials are using helicopters to transport the large animals to various part of ‘the elk zone.’
Gregory K Johnson, Kentucky FIsh and Wildlife Commissioner, stated, “This project is yet another step in our… efforts to broad” elk distribution.
