Info from Licensor: Black bear cubs are taught at a very early age to bluff charge. By doing this 'bluff' they are telling you to get back. I have been studying black bears for over 30 years and have been bluff charged by bears both large and small and never once did it end in contact. This is a 'bluff' NOT an attack, like some people would like to call it!
