A Review of Catherine's Landing RV Park - Hot Springs - Garvan Gardens

Back in August my wife and I took Swift Water Rescue training on the Ouachita River near Hot Springs, Arkansas. After researching RV parks near where we would be training we chose Catherine’s Landing RV Park. At $63 a night it was the most expensive, but I am pleased with our decision. It is extremely well-maintained, has very clean restrooms and showers as well as other amenities. Because Swift Water Rescue training is quite physically taxing, we took a couple of days to rest up before heading back to Texas. On one day we went into Hot Springs to visit some of the sites. One such site was Bathhouse Row, a collection of bathhouses, associated buildings, and gardens located at Hot Springs National Park. In particular we went into the Fordyce Bathhouse Museum, a fascinating place as well as one that kept us cool in the blistering heat. After that we walked around the Promenade and then did a hike up the Gulpha Trail. The trail itself was not very impressive, but there are buildings alongside of it that have been abandoned and look like something out of a horror movie. I could not get a good explanation of what they were, but I found them very interesting. The next day we went to Garvan Gardens, the University of Arkansas botanical garden. We spent more time than I thought we would because it is very educational as well as beautiful. I will let the video speak for itself. Anyway, if you go to Hot Springs, you can’t go wrong with Catherine’s Landing. Not only is it one of the nicest RV parks we have ever been to, it is also very close to Hot Springs itself and the Gardens.
