A rare weather phenomenon was caught on camera recently in Reunion, France - a reverse waterfall.

As a cyclone battered the island in the Indian Ocean last Saturday (January 6), this waterfall appeared to defy gravity by flowing upwards.

Reverse waterfalls happen when strong gusts of wind blow against a waterfall’s flow, thus forcing the stream of water to spray upwards or blow backwards.
