Strong Earthquake Hits Caribbean, North of Honduras A magnitude 7.6 tremor struck the Caribbean Sea Tuesday night between the coast of Honduras and the Cayman Islands. The quake occurred about six miles below the water's surface. Initially, tsunami warnings were issued throughout Central America before being dismissed by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
