Dog rescues chickens buried under Nova Scotia snow
  • 6 years ago
A kindhearted dog rescues two chickens buried and trapped under snow last winter in Nova Scotia.

The owners of Chase the dog - who have had him since he was a 10-week-old puppy - had trained him to help the chickens in case they got stuck in the snow.

This happened in February 2017 during a cold snap, when Chase dug out two buried chickens from the snow and nudged them back towards their coup.

Writes the filmer and Chase's co-owner: "He kept an eye on the chickens and would help protect them from wild animals. He watched over them since they were tiny chicks - he is a kindhearted dog.

The owner says Chase is a Labrador Retriever - a mix of Golden Labrador and Golden Retriever, sometimes called a Goldador.
