2018 To Start With Two Supermoons Beginning And Ending January

According to NASA on Thursday, 2018's first full moon, nicknamed a wolf moon, will take place on January first and it will be a supermoon. A 'supermoon' occurs when the moon appears bigger and brighter in the sky, as it reaches its perigree, the point in the moon's elliptical orbit when it is closest to the earth. The next supermoon event will take place on January 31, making it a "blue supermoon.
