We made a trip to Laughlin, and had to stop by the abandoned Emerald River Casino which is located 100 miles southeast of the Las Vegas Strip.

In 1988 John MIdby announced plans for a $800 million resort & casino along the Colorado River in Laughlin. He financed the project with mostly junk bonds (high interest loans) and before they finished phase 1 they went bankrupt. Now more than 30 years later, it continues to sit abandoned, switching hands every 5 years or so...

The Emerald River golf course closed in 2005.

Hope you enjoy our update of the Emerald River Casino!!!
