Does the Tesla Roadster really have 10,000 Nm of torque? How is that possible!? How much horsepower does the Tesla Roadster make?
At the launch of the latest Tesla Roadster, Elon Musk announced the car will have "10,000 Nm of torque." It's a mind blowing figure, and it's magnitudes above other production cars. But there's a catch. On Tesla's website, it's shown that the torque figure (7,376 lb-ft) provided is "wheel torque." Wheel torque is influenced by gearing, as this video will demonstrate.
