Transcript
00:00It hasn't been a conscious choice to make movies about heroes,
00:04but it's an interesting story about regular people doing exceptional things.
00:08It's not the common man, just three guys that grew up together.
00:12They were put in a position to have to act quickly.
00:16Go!
00:17Because it could have been a major disaster.
00:19There was 500 people on that train that day.
00:23I've looked at a lot of actors, good actors too,
00:26but I kept looking at the guys and I kept looking at their faces.
00:30And finally one day I just said,
00:31do you guys think you could play yourself?
00:33And the more they thought about it, the more they got with it.
00:36And it turned out that they had a lot of natural gift.
00:39And it also was a bit of a catharsis for them to go back and relive the moment.
00:44I just look around sometimes and I'll look at Mr. Eastwood across the room
00:47and I'll be like, oh my God, I'm standing here playing myself
00:51in a Clint Eastwood movie about my life.
00:53It's kind of like living it twice.
00:55We've experienced something amazing.
00:57So it's coming full circle.
00:59We get to relive two years ago how we were.
01:01So it's cool to see how far we've came in between.
01:04The whole thing has just been kind of mind blowing for me.
01:06To be referred to as heroes is kind of a trip.
01:09And to be honest, we're just incredibly grateful that we survived that day.
01:12It was just kind of acting on impulse and God watching out for us or something
01:15because we made it out alive.
01:17It was their experience.
01:18I mean, I knew what I wanted to shoot, but the adventure was for real.
01:21It was their story because it was real life.
01:25So, you know, we are a time tomorrow.
01:27We've always had to leave.
01:28So, what are we doing?
01:29We're all running out of time.
01:30You know, the city can be in a city and a city that has nothing.
01:32We're not running out of time.
01:34We're not running out of time.
01:35That's what we're doing.
01:36I'm not running out of time.
01:37That's what we're doing.
01:38I'm looking forward to seeing here that we're doing now.
