Spectrum Internet Modem Problem becomes Personal Property Destruction. The problems with the time warner a.k.a spectrum internet started the same day I obtained service. Instantly I found myself on three blacklists using their modem! After agreeing that I would not be able to enjoy the benefits of updates using my own personal modem, it was decided to give it a try as a last ditch effort for proper service. My modem was working fine for a few hours but then ipcop set off an init 3 error which led me to inspect the logs of the server, then the firewall, then ipcop itself, then I ended up shocked at what was found in the modem. The software had been completely changed. The features (the only two) were completely eliminated. A new name was found within the router, that being Arris. When I contacted Spectrum to find out why they did this, three agents told me they have the right to flash the modem to alter it from how I'd originally purchased it. They all stated Arris is the maker of my modem. News flash fellas, my modem is Motorola through and through and was pre-Arris buyout of the sb6141 line of modems. This company does not appear to be anything different when it was called Time warner.
