Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Wahid Omar said the number of Malaysian workers who earn less than 2 thousand ringgit per month dropped to 47 per cent as at march of this year, compared with 57 per cent in 2009.
Citing data from Khazanah Nasional Berhad, he added that workers earning between 2 to 4 thousand ringgit had risen to 32 per cent from 28 per cent.
