Ownership cap on plantations may impact Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur Kepong and Genting Plantations which have large holdings in Indonesian Estates may be significantly impacted by the country's plan to cap foreign ownership in oil palm plantations to not more than 30 % . CIMB Research said for now, it was still uncertain if the proposed ruling, which is yet to be passed by Indonesian lawmakers, will be retrospective.
