According to a source familiar with the matter, the U.S. Department of Justice will file a lawsuit aimed at blocking AT&T's $85.4 billion acquisition of Time Warner. In October 2016, AT&T struck a deal to buy Time Warner and the deal quickly became a political lightning rod. President Donald Trump attacked the deal on his campaign trail last year, vowing that as President his Justice Department would block it.
