Thousands of students sing love song ahead of Chinese Singles Day

Footage has emerged of high-school students singing a classic love ballad to mark Chinese Single Day.
In the video, captured in Changchun City in northeastern Jilin Province on November 10, students in school uniform gather together to sing a love song called "Dan Shen Qing Ge," which translates as "love song for singles."
According to reports, the students from the school, which is attached to Northeast Normal University, have sung the song on Chinese Singles Day every year since 2011.
Singles Day started out as a day to celebrate singletons, symbolised by the four number one digits in the date of 11 November, but has now become more of an online retail event.
The students sang the song at 11:11am, albeit the day before Singles Day.
