Virat Kohli has said that MS Dhoni has the sharpest cricketing brain he has ever seen. During a recent chat show, Kohli said, “MS and I have a great understanding. For example, if we’re running between the wickets and he says two, I simply close my eyes and run. Because I’m so sure of his judgment, I know that I’ll make it.”He also said,“I don’t think I’ve come across a better cricketing brain just in terms of planning; knowing what’s happening in the game and can be done… Sometimes I like to follow my own instinct as well but if I ask him something eight or nine times out of 10, he tells you things that always work. So it’s a blessing to have him,” Kohli remarked while lauding Dhoni the tactician.In recent series, it was observed that Dhoni would set the field in the fag end of the innings while the designated skipper would guard the boundary ropes. This mutual respect and understanding between these two important cogs of Indian team is a prime reason for the team’s recent success.
