This Defense Department drone can be plucked out of the sky by a hanging wire.

The RQ-21 Blackjack is a reconnaissance drone designed to launch and land without a runway. The 16-foot drone uses an air pressure rail launcher to take off and a 50-foot-high vertical "Skyhook" wire. It can fly for 16 hours and can reach speeds faster than 100 mph.

With a maximum flying weight of 135 pounds, all this technology doesn't come cheap so any mistakes in launching or landing could be costly.
