Amusing footage of a baby elephant slipping over as he she tries to walk down a hill after heavy rain.

One-year-old Namped walking around the fields shortly after a downpour turned the ground soggy near her home in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand.

The slippery surface proved too much for her to handle and she was filmed repeatedly falling over as she tried to walk.

Elephant trainer Rod Thongri said: ‘’Namped could’t get down the hill, it was too slippy for her. She’s still young and learning how to stay on her feet.

‘’She’s about one year and ten months and is a lot of fun, she’s beautiful and cute.''

Kusala Arkarn, a manager at the elephant sanctuary, said: ‘’She’ll get better at walking as she gets bigger and more steady. She’s young and full of energy so it’s easy for her to fall over.''
