Hi Guys, today Im reviewing the Farberware Air Fryer. \r LINK to Farberware Air Fryer: \r LINK to Philips Air Fryer: \r Watch Philips Air Fryer Review:\r \r \r The air fryer works by circulating hot air at a high speed, there is also a top heating element to help cook the food from all sides. Greasy, fatty foods like sausage should not be cooked in this unit because it could catch fire. You can use this unit to reheat food and not just cook food. \r People buy air fryers to cook healthier versions of deep fried food. With most foods you cook in here, there is only 1 tbsp of oil thats used. Generally with air fryers, theres no smell when youre cooking and no splattering of grease like when youre frying. So clean up should be faster. \r The instruction manual has recommended cooking times and temperatures for room temperature food and frozen food. Even with frozen food, its recommended to bring the food to fridge temperature and not straight out of the freezer. There is a separate recipe book with recipes for fried chicken, french fries, vegetables and dessert like cupcakes and brownies. \r The housing is plastic and when you pull this out of the box, it smells very strong. \r The power indicator is on top and the temperature indicator is below. The temperature control knob, you can set the temperature from 175 to 400 degrees fahrenheit. The timer - set it anywhere from 1 - 30 minutes. Its also the on/off switch. There are pictures showing how much time food takes to cook which is helpful so you dont have to pull out the manual. The air vent is here, you dont want to block that. The unit is inches 13 tall and 10 inches wide. \r When you first get the unit, turn it to the highest setting and leave it on for 20 minutes to get rid of any odors. Let it cool, clean it and you can start using it. The basket and holder are dishwasher safe or you can hand wash them. You can cook up to 2 lbs of food in the unit. \r Put the unit on a flat surface and make sure theres a few inches of space around it. Put the basket into the holder, put your food in the basket, close it. Set the temperature and the time. Both the power and temperature indicators will be lit up. Its normal for the temperature indicator to go on and off during cooking.\r Ill cook french fries first. Its best to use a maximum of 1.2 lbs of potatoes for french fries. These potatoes are just about that weight. Ive peeled and cut them into about ¼ inch thick pieces. Now you have to soak them in water for 30 minutes. Heat the oven to 400 degrees for a few minutes. Drain the potatoes and dry them really well. Coat them with 1 tbsp oil, Im using vegetable oil. Always put oil on the food and mix it up. Dont pour oil into the basket or holder. \r I am not adding any spices because I want to see how the fries turn out just purely potatoes. Put them in the basket and set the timer to 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, stir them and cook for another 5 - 10 minutes. Ill check after 5 minutes. \r \r It sounds like a loud fan. If you have to shake food during cooking, pull the basket out, shake it and put it back. The unit turns off when you take the basket out and turns back on when you put the basket back in. The timer will keep running down. You dont have to turn the timer on again. When the timer counts down, youll hear a bell and the unit shuts off automatically. Both indicators turn off. You can also turn the unit off manually by turning the timer knob to 0. \r Unplug the unit and pull out the basket holder. Push the release button cover forward and theres the release button. Push it and lift the basket up. \r Next Ill try chicken wings, these are coated in 1 tbsp oil, salt, garlic powder, paprika and chili powder. This is 1.5 lbs of chicken. The oven has been heating for a few minutes at 360 degrees. \r If you want to bake, use a baking tin, a foil tray or anything else that you would use in a regular oven. No paper, cardboard or plastic. \r The metal on the unit gets hot during cooking so dont touch it. The housing and handle stay cool\r Dont use metal scouring pads to clean the unit. A damp sponge with a little mild soap is best to clean the inside and outside of the unit. Make sure everything is dry before turning the unit on. \r \r \r Dont use aluminum foil in this unit because that could cause overheating. \r \r This unit is a decent value and did a great job on the chicken wings. The french fries were cooked but not evenly crispy.\r I hope you found this review helpful. Subscribe for more reviews and Ill see you next time. Thanks for watching :)\r \r 1400W 120V 60Hz
