Protester Avoided Arrest By Dressing Like A Bronze Statue

This woman protested by dressing as a statue...and was able to avoid detection when the police came.
The woman was part of a demonstration again President Erdogan's regime in Turkey. The Turkish government has detained or fired more than 150,000 public workers in connection with last year's failed coup attempt. Since the coup, there have been many demonstrations protesting the Erdogan government.
At the protest, other demonstrators were arrested; but the woman was able to avoid detection for some time since the police mistook her for a real statue. While she was later detained, her protest has been celebrated as an example of standing strong — sitting still — in the face of human rights abuses.
