The U.K. has even stricter laws, forbidding any convicted prisoners from voting.In the U.S., 14 states allow inmates to vote after their release, 24 states make prisoners finish parole and probation before they can vote, and convicts from 10 states lose their right to vote permanently.In all, these laws restrict more than 5 million citizens from voting.
