"Who is Dada Bhagwan? Why is he called that?
In this video, Pujya Deepakbhai explains the origin of the title 'Dada Bhagwan'. Param Pujya Gnani Purush Dada Bhagwan's real name was A.M Patel. He got Gnan (Enlightenment) in 1958. He realized that the body and the Soul are separate.
His nephew's son would call him Dada (grandfather). Once, when the son asked him a question related to spirituality, A.M Patel replied with a very impressive and strong answer. The grandson told A.M Patel that you have become Bhagwan (God), your answer is the ultimate. And from there on, people started referring to A.M Patel as 'Dada Bhagwan.' But A.M Patel clarified that He was no God, he is a Gnani Purush (an enlightened One). He said that you should refer 'Dada Bhagwan' to the Pure Soul within Me, which is also the Pure Soul within you and within each and everyone.
