After recently announcing that they would begin selling sneakers on Amazon, Nike is now taking their product to social media. CEO Mark Parker made the announcement during a Q4 earning's call. Nike's partnership with Amazon is supposed to combat counterfeit goods, but with this new venture, the sports and fitness brand will be directly reaching a younger demographic. It's believed that Nike may have joined a slew of companies utilizing Instagram's "shopping tags." Clicking on tags will bring up a window with the descriptions and prices of the items in the advertisement. Tags could even send you directly to the brand's app or website.
