Johnny Depp: 'I intended no malice' with Trump assassination joke
- 7 years ago
Johnny Depp messed up in a bad way last night when he made a joke about assassinating President Donald Trump when speaking to fans after a screening of one of his movies. "When was the last time an actor assassinated a President? It is just a question — I’m not insinuating anything," Depp got in a world of trouble for his quote, with the White House releasing a statement condemning both him and his actions. Depp then issued an apology today. “I apologize for the bad joke I attempted last night in poor taste about President Trump. It did not come out as intended, and I intended no malice. I was only trying to amuse, not to harm anyone.”
