Dan Auerbach: “I don’t feel the need to be a performer”
  • 5 jaar geleden
There is no place where Dan Auerbach, one half of Grammy Award winning blues rock duo The Black Keys, feels more at home than in the studio. With The Black Keys on a break, Auerbach locked himself into his Nashville studio with some songwriting legends like John Prine and, without meaning to, his second solo album Waiting On A Song was born. The creative process is what excites him, and once a song is written Auerbach feels little need to revisit it again. “Playing live is something completely different. It’s not the creative process, you’re just regurgitating something you’ve done before. I like playing live but I don’t get a kick out of it, I don’t feel the need to be a performer."
