JAKARTA, INDONESIA — Here’s something the good citizens of Indonesia did not expect to see smack-bang in the middle of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan — a beautiful woman dressed only in a thong picking up some goods at a pharmacy.
Video of the spectacle quickly went viral through WhatsApp, after it was posted on June 2. The video shows the young, tattooed woman at a pharmacy in west Jakarta.
Strangely, she appears totally oblivious and goes about her business while stunned shoppers gawk at her. And, living through the smartphone age that we are, onlookers were quick to capture it all on video.
On June 5, this mystery woman was spotted again in public, this time wearing only a black bra and shoulder bag.
Many people online initially believed the episodes were some kind or stunt. The reality, however, may be much sadder. Police have identified the woman as Viona Magdalena, daughter of a wealthy Jakarta family, who is suffering from mental health issues.
Unverified reports circulating on Facebook say she fell into a deep depression when her long-term boyfriend left her to marry her best friend. The reports say her family has tried to keep her at home while she undergoes treatment.
Apparently the very sight of her former sweetheart with her former best friend will cause her to strip naked and behave erratically.
Mental health issues are nothing to joke about, and we dearly home Viona recovers from the traumatic and finds happiness.
