United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres spoke about how it was important for nations to enact the Paris climate agreement on May 30, before US President Donald Trump announced withdrawal from the plan.On Friday, June 2, the UN released an edited version of Guterres’ comments along with images of environmental dangers and improvements, one day after Trump’s reaction. The video’s title says, “Get on board or get left behind.”The secretary general’s spokesman said on Thursday the US decision was a “major disappointment.”“It offers a meaningful yet flexible framework for action by all countries,” spokesman Stéphane Dujarric said. “It is crucial that the United States remains a leader on environmental issues.”
