Elijah McGuire ran for 162 yards and five touchdowns to lead UL Lafayette to a 44-17 win over Northwestern State on Saturday night.
McGuire scored on a 7-yard run with 13:01 left in the first quarter and then broke for an 88-yard score on the next series as UL Lafayette (1-1) jumped out front 14-0 with 9:07 remaining in the opening quarter.
Northwestern State (0-2) charged back in the second period when Chris Jones scored from the 41 with 10:17 left in the period.
