A 1982 painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat’s sold for $110.5 million at Sotheby’s in New York, Said the dealer Jeffrey Deitch, an expert on Basquiat. The painting was purchased by Japanese art collector and entrepreneur Yusaku Maezawa. Basquiat, a native New Yorker, died in 1988 of a heroin overdose aged 27.
