Rex Tillerson: 'No Way To Know' If Russians Bugged The Oval Office

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was asked Wednesday if Russians could have bugged the Oval Office during a meeting last week.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has admitted that he would not know if the Russians who recently met President Trump in the Oval Office bugged the room, notes the Daily Caller.
He made the comment Wednesday during a joint appearance with Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra.
After Tillerson welcomed Lamamra to the State Department and they exchanged greetings, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell asked from the audience, “Mr. Secretary, Vladimir Putin is offering Congress a transcript of that Lavrov Oval Office meeting. Do you think the Russians were bugging the Oval Office?”
Tillerson responded by saying, “I would have no way to know that.” He then chuckled and left with his guest as she asked him what he thought of Putin’s offer.
Last Wednesday, Trump met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in the Oval Office, notes the Washington Post.
Since then, there has been controversy about the meeting, which was reportedly closed to U.S. reporters, and about the presence of a Russian photographer who some speculate could have planted a bug or other surveillance device.
The White House has maintained that security protocols were observed.
