Facebook Shooting Suspect Still at Large, Police Say

Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams said on Monday, April 17, that Steve Stephens, a suspect in the fatal shooting of the 74-year-old Robert Godwin Sr, remained at large. Dozens of locations were searched overnight, Williams said, “to no avail."Video showing Godwin’s death was posted to Facebook on April 16. Also in a Facebook video, Stephens said he’d killed 13 people. However, Williams said there was “only one homicide.” Williams said police had spoken to Stephens, but that his condition was not known. He urged members of the public to stay vigilant while Stephens was still at large.Mayor Frank Jackson also spoke to press, giving the city’s condolences to the Godwin family.
