The United States just dropped its most powerful non-nuclear bomb in Afghanistan

According to multiple reports, the US military just dropped their most powerful non-nuclear bomb, a GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb(MOAB), in Afgahnistan. The 21,600 pound bomb was deployed from an MC-130 aircraft and was targeting an ISIS tunnel and cave complex. This is the first time the MOAB, also nicknamed the "mother of all bombs," has been deployed in the battlefield, with sources saying Gen. John Nicholson, commander of US forces in Afghanistan, signed off on its use. The bomb was dropped at 7 p.m. local time on Thursday, with the military currently assessing the damage.
