Chinese national flag pattern cut out of forest

Aerial footage has emerged from China of the country's national flag cut out of a forest.

The video, filmed in Xiamen, Fujian Province on April 6, shows five stars, a heart and an English alphabet 'I' cut out of the woodland on three islands.

The three patterns were designed by the local university's scientific research team.

The symbols mean "I love my motherland (China)" when put together.
