'Adios!': Mexican newspaper shuts down after journalist's murder

A newspaper in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico is shutting down because of the recent murders of journalists in the area. Norte notified readers that they were closing their papers with the headline 'Adios!' In March, three journalists were shot and killed in attacks throughout Mexico. The breaking point for the paper was the murder of Miroslava Breach, who was a reporter for La Jornada, but collaborated with Norte as well. A gunman shot Breach eight times in her car, leaving a note that said: “For being a loud-mouth.” Norte Editor Oscar Cantu Murguia While the newspaper will stop publishing, Norte’s website will continue to operate.
