LONDON — At least four people were killed and 20 more injured after an apparent terrorist attack took place in London near the British parliament.
The March 22 attack began when a car mounted the pavement on Westminster Bridge and mowed into roughly a dozen pedestrians before it rammed into the railings of the Palace of Westminster.
The suspect then left the car and allegedly stabbed a police officer. He was then believed to have been shot by other police officers as he was running towards the House of Commons entrance.
“We've declared this as a terrorist incident and the counter-terrorism command are carrying out a full-scale investigation into the events today,” Reuters quoted Mark Rowley, Britain's most senior counter-terrorism officer, as saying.
