Trump travel ban challenged in court day before it goes into effect
  • 7 years ago
President Trump's revised travel ban is being challenged in federal courts across the country only a day before it is supposed to go into effect. More than half-dozen states are scrutinizing the executive order, which impacts U.S. entry for nationals of six different Muslim-majority countries. Hawaii, Washington State, and Maryland are among the states involved in the lawsuits. The revised travel ban temporarily puts a halt on the U.S. refugee program, but does not apply to travelers who already possess visas. The new version of the order also attempts to downplay any anti-Islam sentiments.
