Facebook enters live-stream deal with MLS

Facebook was already one of the giants of live-stream video but now they have taken the next step and have signed a deal with Major League Soccer to live-stream games. The deal is for the 2017, during which Facebook will stream at least 22 games in English while Univision Deportes will simultaneously broadcast them in Spanish. The games will appear on MLS' and Univision Deportes' Facebook pages. Additionally, MLS will also do 40 "Matchday Live" streams solely for Facebook. This is a big step for Facebook in competing with Twitter, who last year got the rights to live-stream all Thursday night NFL games.
