French ski resort struck by avalanche twice in one month

An avalanche struck the French Alps ski resort of Tignes on Tuesday around 10 a.m., marking the region's second avalanche in less than a month. A rescue mission was launched immediately, with no fatalities reported. Initially, officials said there were many skiers who were swept by the avalanche and buried under the snow. Authorities listed the avalanche as four out of five due to strong winds.
