BILLINGS, MONTANA — The Billings police department are investigating an incident that involved an open carrier firing six shots at fleeing shoplifters.
A man and a woman identified as shoplifting suspects were about to escape from a mall parking lot when they were confronted by a man brandishing a gun, local CBS affiliate KTVQ 2 reported.
Video obtained by KTVQ 2 shows the confrontation unfold. The male suspect appears to get out of the car and walk quickly away while the woman remains in the vehicle.
The man warns the driver that he’ll open fire if she tries to hit him. She then reverses toward him, prompting the man to fire four shots at the vehicle’s tires, then another two shots as she sped away.
No one was injured. The cops questioned, then released the shooter, but said the investigation into the case is still ongoing.
