Footage has emerged of a severe flood in San Jose reportedly caused by a breach in a creek.

The video, captured on Tuesday from a home near Coyote Creek in California, shows chaotic scenes of back gardens totally inundated.

According to reports, thousands of people have been evacuated as flooding continues to spread.
