The tracking of every earthquake and their magnitude shows where the bulk of seismic activity occurs, but can’t convey the impact on the land and people when they hit. For that, the tragic images of the 2004 Indonesia tsunami, caused by the third largest earthquake ever recorded, are more than enough.
