Days before his inauguration, Donald Trump was already preparing for his run in 2020.
Not only did he come up with the slogan "Keep America Great!” he moved to have it trademarked, reports Politico.
The requisite paperwork was filed on January 18, notes TMZ.
That same day, the Washington Post published the interview in which Trump revealed his 2020 catchphrase plans.
He then said to his attorney, “Will you trademark and register…‘Keep America Great’…With and without an exclamation.”
Notably, the 2016 slogan, “Make America Great Again,” was trademarked as well, but not initially by the Trump campaign.
The person who filed first handed it over in exchange for a meeting with Trump and a $100,000 donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, notes TMZ.
