Trump On Alleged Russian Hacking: 'We Ought To Get On With Out Lives'

Donald Trump commented on the alleged Russian interference in the U.S. election during an impromptu press conference at his Florida estate.

As the current administration readies to announce sanctions against Russia as punishment for its alleged interference in the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump shared his views on the matter, reports the Washington Post.
Speaking to reporters gathered outside his Florida estate on Wednesday, Trump said, “I think we ought to get on with our lives. I think that computers have complicated lives very greatly. The whole age of the computer has made it where nobody knows exactly what’s going on. We have speed, we have a lot of other things, but I'm not sure we have the kind of security we need.”
In the past, the president-elect has suggested that he is not convinced Russia engaged in cyber attacks for the purpose of influencing the 2016 election in his favor.
He also noted via Twitter, “If Russia, or some other entity, was hacking, why did the White House wait so long to act? Why did they only complain after Hillary lost?”
His views are in line with those of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Maria Zakharova, a representative for the ministry, recently said, “…frankly, we are tired about the lies about Russian hackers — it’s misinformation by Obama administration aimed at providing an excuse for its own failure.”
Nonetheless, the Obama administration is reportedly confident in the intelligence community’s reports and is moving ahead with devising consequences, notes the Washington Post.
