Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', recently stated that he plans to visit actor Sanjay Dutt before he surrenders. Dutt has been convicted by the Supreme Court under the Arms Act for possessing illegal weapons and he has to surrender to the police on May 16, 2013.
At an event when Ranbir was quizzed about Dutt, the actor said, "Sanju sir is a big part of my life, he is a big supporter and he is like family so, of course I have been in touch with him. I visited him once, I have been away myself but I should visit him before its time for him to surrender and we all pray for him and I think he is a strong man and whatever he has to go through, he'll go through it."
On Tuesday, Sanjay told a TADA court that he was facing threat to his life from fundamentalist groups and has therefore sought permission to surrender in front of the Yerawada jail in Pune, instead of the special court in Mumbai.
