An adorable video has emerged of a father and his daughter doing a grunge rendition of "Santa Claus is coming to town".

The footage, shot last week at their home in Plymouth, MA, USA, shows Melody and her dad throwing song rock and roll spirit into the festive classic song.

"My daughter Melody needed some cheering up so I played the song for her.. she started laughing and asked to song too. So I recorded it and the rest is history," the father wrote online.

"I'm a single Dad and recovering alcoholic. Been sober for a while now and just love making my daughters life the best it can be," he added.
